Lake Lewisville Catfish Guide, Bobby Kubin, is a full-time, licensed professional freshwater fishing guide who has a focus on catching trophy blue catfish, eating size blue catfish and channel catfish on Lake Lewisville and Grapevine.  My goal is to provide you with an enjoyable and fun-filled outdoor experience.  With over 30 years of fishing experience, I am able to locate and catch catfish using a variety of techniques and baits.  I will provide custom-designed catfish fishing trips to anglers of all experience levels and ages.  I will work with my clients to design a catfishing trip to either help them learn how to locate and catch catfish, or we can just go out and catch a cooler full of fresh blue cats or channel cats for a fish fry.

Karen caught her personal best and new Texas Parks and Wildlife catch and release record blue catfish. TTrophy Blue Catfish was caught on Lake Lewisville with Lake Lewisville catfish fishing guide, Bobby Kubin. The big blue cat was caught with cut shad for bait using Team Catfish Double Action Circle hooks and dead red blood spray. Barry and Karen just couldn't get enough of the blues last week and made the trek up from Granbury for another round on Lewisville. Bait was easy to catch once again. 5 or 6 throws of the Bait Buster and I had 2 gallon bags full of nice gizzards. More than enough for their full-day catfishing trip. The first spot started off a bit slow with each angler putting several blues in the box before the bite died. Next setup produced a few more box fish before one of the Back rods slammed down to the water. Unfortnately the unlucky angler broke the two golden rules of using circle hooks. #1 Reel, reel, reel! #2 NEVER give the fish ANY slack! We picked up a few more fish there and moved on to more productive grounds. We located some larger fish and quickly got set up. It took several minutes to get the fish biting, but they eventually turned on. Barry had the first big fish hooked up and the fight was on. The fish put on a good show before coming to the net. A new personal best was just over 22 lbs for the lucky angler. This was a very special fish for Barry. The 37" blue cat was his last freshwater catch needed to complete the TPWD Elite Anglers Program. He is only the second person to complete both the saltwater and freshwater requirements. Karen wasn't about to be out done by her husband on this trip. About 30 minutes later, she had a rod go down. No doubt it was a big fish based on the strike. She reeled down and the rod tip burried into the water. Her fish was just over 28 lbs. and over 39" long. Her trophy blue cat is her second entry to completing her freshwater Elite Anglers Award. Fresh shad with Dead Red Blood spray helped the happy couple accomplish their goals and fill their freezer with some really nice box fish. Total catch was just over 160 lbs of fish caught.
